What Is This?

Well, talk about a little niche with the Internet!

This blog is about one person's experiences with becoming Christian. I'll just say it plain and simple, in case you have stumbled upon these two words on a Google search. "Lutheran", obviously, because that is the denomination I have adopted (LCMS, to be exact). "Lucciola", because I used to be pagan. Streghe/Strege, in America. Yes, I still love the fireflies.

And as it would happen, there are others of you out there. People who have become Christian from former pagan backgrounds, and many of you who received Christ. And many who are now with the Lutheran church! God's Grace and Love, in action!

I have Gypsy friends, who have done the same. We support each other, and talk about how the cultural change is quite funny at times. I'll save the "chicken dance" stories for another post.....

Some of you have a very hard time with the family situation. This is where (maybe) your experience is different, than say, people who started the pagan thing later on in their own life. I have very little family, so for me this isn't as big a deal as for others. But I have friends who have had a very hard time with family, after receiving Christ. "You don't want to sacrifice anymore?" "What about your grandmother, you don't honor her anymore?" No, grandma is not going to fall out of the sky, if I stop worshipping her. Trust me!

This is my first time blogging, and I have yet to figure out how much time and energy I have for it. Or how this blog will evolve. But stay tuned, it should get interesting!

In Christ,

Lutheran Lucciola

Thanks for the post at the Alley, LL. I'll include you in the next update.

Also, as one who recently suffered through a wiccan/pagan wedding between two Renaissance fair entertainers who I happen to like, I can only hope that your faith journey would be one that their lives would mirror.

Hi, Mr. Aardvark!

Yes, funny you should mention the Ren Fair. I am planning on going soon to the one near me, and doing what I did last time I went there...handing out copies of Marty's 95 theses, dressed in full form.

My fellow convert friend is the Romani woman who used to give readings there, and now tells people about Lutheranism and Christ. They aren't sure what to do with us, because they can't really kick us out. Two crazy women, they think!

Thank you for the listing, and I will most definitely keep myself open to the Holy Spirit, to reach other pagans. I hope your friends find this blog!
